The Jesse Tree is a devotional tool available in many forms. It is used most often around Christmas to show the thread of the gospel story throughout the whole Bible. This particular ornament depicts the serpent, who tempted Eve to sin against God and eat the forbidden fruit. The green color of the serpent is a nod to the Lady of the Green Kirtle, a character in C.S. Lewis's book The Silver Chair. She turns into a green serpent after the main characters break her spell and decide to leave her dark Underland. The ornament can be used with any Jesse tree devotional guides that include the serpent symbol.
